Facts About Gender Diversity
An introduction...
Although a lot of progress has been made in recent years with regard to many aspects of daily life for people living with, or having dealt with various forms of gender diversity and their [sometimes necessary] treatments, there is still a long way to go for complete understanding, acceptance and equal rights in society.
Many people have written research papers and even whole books on topics I address here. Suffice to say, the information I provide is only brief but hopefully should highlight the main issues involved and help clarify some areas of concern and misunderstanding for many people.
In the case of sports, there is one main issue of contention amongst most people which is very much misunderstood. That issue is of a perceived 'unfair advantage' that transitioned women might have over other female competitors due to presumed additional strength. The two key words here are 'perceived' and 'presumed'. This is because nobody has actually addressed the medical science behind physiology and subsequently it is not common knowledge. This is what I intend on providing an insight into here.
For example (in my own case) the table at the top of this page shows the average driving distances for players on the Ladies European Tour in 2006. I hit over 60 yards shorter than the longest hitter on tour, which equates to a difference of about 4 to 5 clubs on the second shot. As you can see, I have a lot of work to do!
The premise amongst most people is that men and women are so extremely different in almost every respect. While some obvious differences do of course exist, they are not always as extreme as people might think. Please read these pages with an open mind. It is time for the truth to be known and embraced.
I have split this section of my site into 4 pages as there is quite a lot of information to read:
