Brief History:
After living in England for 5 years, from the age of 3, Mianne's family moved back to Denmark where she, and her parents, started playing golf at Holstebro Golf Klub in 1974. In 1976 they moved back to England and continued playing at Tewkesbury G&CC until moving to Australia in 1979. The family continued playing at Tea Tree Gully Golf Club, in Adelaide, and Mianne continued playing and practicing until 1992. 1990-92 included a more serious effort to improve her game with 4-6 days practice per week and getting down to a 4 handicap.
After a few years absense, she took up the game again in 1998 with the intention of playing socially, but couldn't help wanting to improve her game. Occassional social games turned into a few games a week that included an hour or two of practice before hand. This soon turned into regular practice of 4-6 days a week again, getting her handicap down to 5 and then being approached by Troy Lane to coach her, after both played in a local pro-am in Adelaide.
Mianne's game kept improving and she was asked to join a local pennant team, to play for them in local matches around Adelaide. She started playing a few local tournaments and after some good results was asked to join the South Australian State Squad. This all helped to improve Mianne's game further and after entering her first State level tournament with a rather shakey start (83, 71), she went on to win her first South Australian State Amateur Championship.
The next few years saw Mianne representing the South Australian State Team and playing national amateur tournaments around Australia. She achieved a highest ranking of 6th in Australia before deciding to turn professional in 2003. In 2004 Mianne competed in her first professional tournament (as a professional), attracting world wide media attention in the process. That year she went on to play her first season as a professional on the Swedish Telia Tour and the following year saw her play her first season on the Ladies European Tour (LET).
